3. What Siren Does
Siren is an incident management and alerting platform designed for software engineering teams. Our service provides:
Core Features:
- Incident Detection: Receive alerts via email from monitoring systems
- Voice Call Alerts: Real-time phone calls to on-call engineers
- On-Call Rotations: Manage daily/weekly schedules
- Incident Tracking: Acknowledge and resolve incidents
Access Levels:
Phone-Enabled Users: Receive real-time voice call alerts and manage incidents
Email-Only Users: View incidents (read-only)
4. SMS Terms and Conditions
Company Information
These SMS terms apply to text messaging services provided by Split Rock AI LLC, operating as Siren.
Program Description
Siren provides optional SMS notifications for on-call schedule reminders and non-incident communications. Critical incident alerts are delivered via voice calls, not SMS.
SMS Message Types:
- On-Call Schedule Reminders: Notifications when your shift is starting
- Schedule Changes: Updates about rotation changes
- Account Notifications: Service-related updates
All SMS messages are service-related notifications. We do not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages. Critical incident alerts are delivered via voice calls.
Phone Verification
Before sending voice call alerts, we verify your phone number using a third-party verification service. This ensures:
- The phone number belongs to you
- You have explicitly consented to receive alerts
- The number is capable of receiving calls and SMS messages
Opt-In Process
To receive SMS notifications (schedule reminders, etc.), you must:
- Provide your mobile phone number on our platform
- Review and agree to these SMS Terms and our Privacy Policy
- Check the consent checkbox confirming your agreement
- Complete phone verification by entering the code we send you
- Enable SMS notifications in your account settings
By completing this process, you consent to receive automated text messages from Split Rock AI LLC (operating as Siren) at the phone number you provided.
Important: Voice call alerts for critical incidents are the core real-time alerting feature of Siren and require a verified phone number. SMS notifications for schedule reminders are optional and separate from voice call alerts.
Message Frequency
SMS message frequency is typically low since SMS is used only for schedule reminders and non-incident notifications.
Factors that affect frequency:
- Your on-call rotation schedule (daily, weekly)
- Whether you have schedule reminders enabled
- Account and service-related updates
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Standard text messaging rates from your mobile carrier will apply to all messages sent and received. Please check with your carrier for details about your messaging plan.
STOP - Opt-Out Instructions
You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by:
- Reply STOP: Text STOP to any message from our service to immediately cancel all future SMS messages to that number
- Disable in Settings: Visit your account settings and disable SMS notifications
After you send STOP, we will send you one final SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. You will no longer receive SMS notifications.
Note: Opting out of SMS only affects schedule reminders and non-incident notifications. Voice call alerts for critical incidents are a separate feature and will continue as long as your phone number is verified.

Carrier Liability Disclaimer
Wireless carriers (including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and others) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery is subject to carrier network availability, device compatibility, network congestion, and other factors outside of Siren's and the carriers' control.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure timely delivery of incident alerts but cannot guarantee delivery due to these external factors.
SMS Privacy and Data Protection
Your mobile phone number and SMS consent data are stored securely with AES-256 encryption at rest.
We do not:
- Sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number with third parties for marketing purposes
- Share your SMS opt-in consent data with anyone except as required by law
- Use your phone number for promotional or advertising messages
See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
5. Pricing and Billing
Siren operates on a freemium model with a free tier and paid tier. Organizations receive a one-time allotment of free incidents with voice call alerts. After exhausting the free tier, organizations transition to a paid tier with per-incident pricing.
Billing: Organizations on the paid tier are billed on a monthly billing cycle. Current pricing details are available in your organization's billing settings within the application.
Payment Required: After exhausting your free tier, you must add a payment method to continue receiving voice call alerts. Incident tracking and web dashboard access continue regardless of payment status.
Payment Processing: All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information on our servers.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security practices:
- Encryption at rest: AES-256 encryption for all personal information (email, name, phone)
- Encryption in transit: TLS/HTTPS for all data transmission
- Infrastructure: Hosted on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure
- Key storage: Encryption keys stored in secure, hardened key management systems
7. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
